Friday File 31

Our biggest news this week is that we added a cat to our family. Her name is Suzanne, and we picked her up from the local humane society. She had been caught in a fan belt, and her hair is still growing back over her side where they had to stitch her up. She is tiny and sweet and doesn’t seem to mind all the children.

Healthy Simplicity

Soon we’ll be into school again. Do you teach penmanship? Do you make your children use cursive? A couple of years ago I was slacking off in these areas. Then I read this article and changed my mind.

What’s Lost as Handwriting Fades

I was challenged by this article about how we want our lives to be remembered.

 A Life Well Lived…

Do you feel overwhelmed with trying to be like the Proverbs 31 woman? This post will put it in perspective for you.

When You Want to Give Up On the Proverbs 31 Woman

I found a couple of Trim Healthy Mama recipes that I want to try soon.

Fried Rice (E)

Best Ever Breakfast Smoothie Bowl (E) and never mind it being for breakfast; I think this would be a great mid-afternoon snack!

Do you need a few moments of downtime this summer? This is a great set of stories for your children to watch. The Peter Rabbit stories have been animated. My children love them, and I love knowing that they are safe to watch. Wins all around.

When are your children starting back to school? We still have a month off, but I’m starting to get excited about the new year.

Well I know we have talked about cursive and I, too, am getting the kids back into it. I found a free curriculum that uses the KJV and they get to practice their cursive. I printed them out yesterday and they are in binders ready to go :).

I liked the article on how to be remembered. I agree with the lady on all points. So important to be a godly woman. I’m sure we all want to be remembered for these things and I’d like to be remembered especially for serving and living for others. I want others to see Christ in me.

I have long wanted to do a study on the Pr. 31 woman because many “career” women live with the assumption that she was one and I have never believed that. I believe the Bible speaks on wives/mothers staying home. I enjoyed this article because I can see how each of us can have the character of the Proverbs 31 woman. Going to have to re-read it now with that in mind 🙂
