Books Are BFFs

I hope anyone who reads my blog would agree with me that books truly can be our BFFs. I know that that’s the way it has been in my life since I learned to read which I only barely remember doing.

I’ve recently taken my love of books to a new level. I’ve signed up to be a consultant with Usborne books.

Our family has loved Usborne books for years. They are informative, entertaining, and thorough. This fall I’m going to be using several to supplement our homeschool curriculum.

I’ve named my online store “Books Are BFFs.” You can find me on Facebook and Instagram although at this point the Instagram account has not had much done with it.

I did a Facebook live explaining why we love Usborne books and the books and products we’re currently using in our home. Then I did another one when my first kit arrived. I opened and shared what was in the box. This one highlights some new-to-us Usborne books that we love and why.

Here is a quote from the Consultant Manual about some of the reasons why you should consider bringing Usborne books into your home:

Some of Usborne’s unique features

1. Step-by-step explanations of the “Hows and Whys”.

2. Cut-away illustrations so children can get the inside view.

3. Double page lay-outs which open so that the book is easily propped up, enticing the child to delve into the pictures.

4. Pages filled with activity – a lot of material to explore on each topic.

5. Straightforward text consistently positioned below each picture simplifying the reading exercise – the use of short sentences encourages the child to read.

6. Many of our pre-school books feature charming illustrations by Stephen Cartwright with a “find-the-duck” theme through-out.

Usborne’s award-winning children’s books are sold worldwide. Usborne Books are sold successfully through home party plans in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, England, the USA, and Canada. Usborne Books are also found in book stores, museums, national parks, libraries, and other specialty retail outlets.

So I’m curious – Have you heard of Usborne, and if you have what are your favourite books or genres in Usborne?
