Simple Living 6

It’s been a long time since I told you all what I’m doing with my life. I’ve been doing a lot of knitting and sewing with a little bit of baking and gardening thrown in.

I finished the quilt that I had shown the beginning of in my last Friday post.

I’m in the middle of my middle’s son’s memory quilt. It’s coming along oh so slowly. It has truly been the most difficult quilt I’ve ever done. I have the middle panel finished – I think (I hope) the hardest part. Now I have to figure out where to go from here.

I’m also making a quilt for a friend’s daughter who broke her leg in two places! I love quilting and will look for any excuse to make one. I’m doing a form of the Log Cabin quilt block. I’ve always wanted to try this block.

I’ve learned how to use the sourdough starter that I pulled out of my fridge and revived. I’ve made flatbread, pancakes, pretzels, brownies, and of course, bread. Most of it was very well received.

We planted potatoes on some land loaned to us for that purpose. At home we’ve planted tomatoes, onions and cabbages. Onions and cabbages are new to me so I have no idea how I’ll do.

I also recently signed up to sell Usborne books. As a family we LOVE these books. I imagine I’ll be talking a little more about those books from time to time.

We are so happy that the restrictions are beginning to ease and that we can go to church again as a family instead of having to decide who goes and who stays home.

School is over. Summer is here, and we hope to pack it full of fun and useful days.
