Simple Living 3

I can hardly believe that I allowed a whole week to slip by without a post from me.

I see all these posts about what people are getting done now that they have to stay home because of the virus, but I feel like the virus has taken time away from me as I had to stand in line at three different stores this week.

I’m not complaining. Even with the restrictions we are so blessed in North America. I’m just not getting the extra time that I see others saying they have. That being said I bought a new puzzle today to do with two of my boys who enjoy puzzles as much as I do. I think we’re about half finished after just one afternoon’s work.

Intentional Simplicity

I have been spending more time sewing and crafting to bless others.

This week I made this hotpad for a friend. I had so much fun choosing the fabrics. It’s all handsewn and only took about an hour. It’s much prettier in person, but I think you get the idea that it’s very springy and very cheerful.

Intentional Simplicity

I’ve spent a few hours this week preparing 3 1/2 inch squares to make a quilt for a friend who has been sick for months now. I still have about fifty squares to cut but seeing what I’ve done already makes me so happy.

Intentional Simplicity

I’ve also been working on my knitted blanket. I am so, so close to being finished – the second to last square to be exact. I did have a goal of finishing it this week, but these other projects changed my priorities a little. So I hope to have a picture of the finished project by next Friday.

I’ve been trying to be more mindful of calling or texting friends near and far so I really haven’t spent a lot of time on the internet and haven’t really pinned anything of note this week.

One thing I’d like to tell you about is that Creative Memories – a scrapbook company that I love – is doing a craft demonstration for children on Friday afternoons. You can find them by searching “Creative Memories Kids Virtual Craft” on Facebook. I was out today and didn’t do it with my boys, but I’ll be ready for it next Friday.

I hope you’re all staying safe physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
