I know I’ve been missing in action for over a week now, but I have a good excuse. I’ve been battling the flu. It’s never bad enough for me to just stay in bed and get over it. It’s just bad enough to make me drag my way through school in the morning and then be lazy all afternoon. I think I’m coming to the end though. I have more energy and less aches.
My wrists are slowly healing, and we’ve finally discovered the problem for my right wrist – the sheath around the tendons is inflamed. So I’m doing physio, anti-inflammatory supplements, rest and ice (except that I’m cold a lot so I haven’t done this yet). My left wrist seems to be better. I think it just needed rest.
Today would have been my husband’s 54th birthday. It’s hard to believe it’s only been four months since he left us. It feels much longer. I did a post once on how my husband and I met. You can read it here.
I’ve been slowly catching up on my knitted temperature blanket. I was about three weeks behind and now I’m just three days behind. We have a friend visiting right now, and to mark her visit the days that she’s visiting us are started and ended in her favourite colour. You can also see the double row of black to mark the end of the month. Here’s how the blanket’s looking.

I did manage to make a quilt for an adorable two-year-old who just had his birthday. I included a matching puppy in the quilt fabric.

I’ve been doing a lot of pinning but not actually baking or crafting because of not feeling well, but here’s some of what I’ve been pinning.
I’m actually trying this recipe today. It sounds fantastic.

Feeling sick I’ve been thinking of things to do to improve my health and immune system. This drink sounds like it would be good for me.

We love bread, and I am so determined to try this recipe soon. It looks amazing.
I also pinned some new quilt patterns – too many quilts, not enough time. You can check out my Pinterest boards here if you’re interested.
And just before I sign off here’s what’s being celebrated in the upcoming week. My little guys ask me every morning now what day it is – and they don’t mean Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or 21, 22, 23. 🙂
- Saturday – February 24 – National Tortilla Chip Day (the chips are ready and waiting)
- Sunday – February 25 – Chocolate-Covered Nuts Day (they’re ready too)
- Monday – February 26 – Tell a Fairly Tale Day (this will be fun)
- Tuesday – February 27 – No-Brainer Day (not quite sure what we’ll be doing)
- Wednesday – February 28 – Tooth Fairy Day (probably skipping this one)
- Thursday – March 1 – Peanut Butter Lovers’ Day (this will be easy – we love peanut butter here)
- Friday – March 2 – Old Stuff Day (yeah, we have a lot of that so I’m sure we can come up with something)
I hope you have a lovely weekend and a good week. Thanks to all of you who read this blog and pray for us.
Sorry that you have been ill. The flu has been devastating this year so it is a blessing that you were still able to function. I know that your children depend on you. I will pray for good health for you and that your children stay well. Blessings ~ Pam ~

Thanks, Pam. This morning I actually woke up with no sore throat or achiness so I’m hoping that I’m over it.
