This week seems to have gone by in something of a fog. Getting used to school even with only two weeks off has been an adjustment. It didn’t help that we had several dentist appointments to work in around our school schedule. We had another birthday this week. Micah has hit the double-digit mark now!
I did get my other set of kitchen curtains sewn this week and a little bit of scrapbooking. I’ve also been working hard with one of our pastor’s sons to set up a website for a business I’m starting. I’m hoping to have it up by next week and will perhaps do a post about it when that happens. And I’ve kept up with my knitting every day for my temperature blanket.
Micah designed his cake this year. He drew out a picture for his sister to follow which she did nicely. It tasted even better than it looks!

My kitchen curtains. I’m not totally happy. I’m thinking that I either need to hem them more or get a curtain rod that I can hang higher on the wall. Anyway, for now their keeping the sun out of the eyes of whoever is in the kitchen so that’s the important thing. For the most part I keep them open. I like the natural light coming in.

My little guys and I have been doing this Bible reading challenge since the beginning of the year. Our pastor has challenged everyone to read through the Bible this year. I wasn’t thinking about doing it with my three youngest, but then my sister sent me this link. So it’s not that we will read the entire Bible with them, but every day we read a passage. Then they have to do some kind of lego build based on what we read. They really look forward to this every day.
This is the lamb that my five year old came up with after we read the story about Cain and Abel.

My five year old wants a winter hat with a pom-pom, and this pattern looks like it would be simple and fast. Bonus: He asked for a pom pom on it.

I’ve always wanted to do a party in the middle of winter when everyone is feeling blah. Maybe this is the year I’ll get it done. If I do, for sure I’m making this super cute dessert.
These no-bake snacks look like they would be really good to keep on hand. Keeping snacks in the house is a real challenge for me.

That’s it for this week. What’s your favourite easy snack?
We’re not into football, so for a couple years now, we have tried to host a Game Day on the Sunday when everyone else is having Super Bowl parties. (This is probably not as big a thing in Canada.) We have people over and all share tasty snacks like people at a Super Bowl party would, and we play lots of board games. It’s been so fun that some of us have decided we want to try to do that about once a month this winter, taking turns hosting. So if you want to hold a fun mid-winter get-together, thought I would pass that idea along.
Blessings on your new business venture!

That’s a great idea. Now that I’m teaching piano lessons the girls get to see some of their friends once a week, and they play games during the lessons (three girls from one family and three boys from another – lots of laughing while we work through our lessons upstairs). I really should do a dedicated night though. That would be so much fun.
