Yesterday, Today, Forever

This song has been going through my head since yesterday. I love the first two lines – “glorious message,” “simple faith,” “Jesus is the same.” I can’t tell you how much I’m clinging to this message – Jesus is the same.

I’ve read so many Christian biographies. I’ve read of amazing things God has done in answer to prayer. I’ve read how faith and trust in God sustained those going through severe trials. And I’m trusting that this same God will do the same for me.

Actually, I know He’s doing the same for me. Only God can be the explanation for the peace I have in the midst of the current trial our family is going through.

I know that whatever comes in my life – All may change, but Jesus never!

O how sweet the glorious message simple faith may claim
Yesterday, today, forever Jesus is the same.
Still He loves to save the sinful, heal the sick and lame
Cheer the mourner, still the tempest, glory to His Name.

Refrain
Yesterday, today, forever, Jesus is the same.
All may change, but Jesus never! Glory to His Name!
Glory to His Name! Glory to His Name!
All may change, but Jesus never! Glory to His Name!

He, who was the Friend of sinners, seeks the lost one now
Sinner come, and at His footstool penitently bow
He Who said “I’ll not condemn thee, go and sin no more,”
Speaks to thee that word of pardon as in days of yore.

Oft on earth He healed the sufferer by His mighty hand
Still our sicknesses and sorrows go at His command
He who gave His healing virtue to a woman’s touch
To the faith that claims His fullness still will give as much.

As of old He walked to Emmaus, with them to abide
So through all life’s way He walketh ever near our side
Soon again we shall behold Him, Hasten Lord the day
But twill still be this same Jesus as He went away.

    Hi Jennifer,
    My name is Jennifer as well but most people call me Jen (;
I just wanted to let you know that our family is praying for you and particularly for your husband. Barb visits our church quite often in Kingston and we get regular updates. I found your blog by visiting your church website so I hope that’s ok. Its nice to put a face to a name sometimes. Just quickly going through some of your blog I can tell we might be cut from the same cloth. I will enjoy it when I can (growing my 8th right now so you know all too well what sleep means to a woman!).
Take very good care. Have a wonderful day serving our Lord and Saviour,

    Jen Lepage

    1. My family all calls me Jen. 🙂
Thank you so much for your prayers. I really can’t express how much everyone’s prayers mean to us.
Congratulations on your 8th. When are you due?
Maybe someday our family can visit the church in Kingston so we can meet.
