My uncle sent me this song recently, and it was an encouragement as the lyrics have been going through my head a lot the last few days. I have always enjoyed Because He Lives. There is so much hope and truth in this song.
It’s so true that Jesus is the reason we are able to get up in the morning with hope in our hearts. There is also hope in our death. Hope that we will pass from life to life and be eternally with Jesus.
Our life has become so uncertain this past year, more precious, scarier. The one constant is God and His love for our family. Knowing that He has and will take care of us. And all of this is possible because Jesus was willing to come to earth and die for us.
And then… He rose again. The Resurrection is truly the focal point of all life.
God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!
Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone,
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!
How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he brings;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!
And then one day, I’ll cross the river,
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to victory,
I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know He lives!
