Redeemed

You know how you can get a certain song stuck in your head for days? Well, this is the song that I keep having run through my head over the last few days.

This is another well-beloved song penned by Fanny J. Crosby. How much encouragement she has given to Christians the world over for so many years. I discovered there is a fifth verse to this song that our hymnals don’t print! Why? Who doesn’t want to be reminded about being at home with the Lord?

We should all sing of our redemption every day because it’s what makes our life worth living. Without Jesus’ redeeming blood there is no life. There is only existence.

Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed through His infinite mercy,
His child and forever I am.

Refrain

Redeemed, redeemed,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed, redeemed,
His child and forever I am.

Redeemed, and so happy in Jesus,
No language my rapture can tell;
I know that the light of His presence
With me doth continually dwell.

I think of my blessèd Redeemer,
I think of Him all the day long:
I sing, for I cannot be silent;
His love is the theme of my song.

I know there’s a crown that is waiting,
In yonder bright mansion for me,
And soon, with the spirits made perfect,
At home with the Lord I shall be.

    Such a joyful song – full of rich words. (Can you tell I haven’t been on my laptop in awhile…can’t believe how quickly my days fill up!)
    I DO enjoy that we sing every verse of a song at church because it tells a story usually…why leave one out?
    Genevieve even sang FIVE verses of the song, “I’m Going Higher” as a solo. She did well and the story was told 🙂
