Friday File 58

This has been a busy week. I started the week with not being able to access my website and spent more time than I care to admit talking to a technician and waiting for emails from technicians and trying to figure out what those emails said. Finally though my blog is back up although I lost almost all of the posts I wrote last week about scrapbooking. I do plan on rewriting them at some point because I feel like they had good info.

That was the hard, sad parts of my blog this week. The happy part was what my daughter did for me in giving my blog a new look. Honestly, it’s like she got inside my head and saw exactly what I wanted for my blog. I just love the way it looks. Don’t you?

I’ve also had a busy week sewing. One of the hardest parts was helping my oldest daughter pick out the fabric for a new dress. We just couldn’t find anything that matched what was in her head. Finally, my middle daughter and I convinced her that a cream-coloured linen-lookalike fabric would look nice. Now I just have to sew it.

I’ve been figuring out a full slip pattern for my middle daughter. Waaaay out of my comfort zone, but we’re getting there. So much sewing to finish up before next Saturday, and we have company coming the beginning of next week, and I have a scrapbook party to go to tomorrow (Well, actually, it’s in my house so it’s not like I can’t go. 😃 ). I think next week is going to be very busy.

I was recently thinking that I wanted to get a wreath on my door for spring. I found this cute door hanging that I totally want to make.

I send this post to my daughter to read because it has some good thoughts on what a girl should be doing while waiting for a husband.

Preparing for a Future Husband: Some Practical Suggestions

I only grew up with sisters so living with teenage boys is totally new to me. I found this post to have some good things to think about in how I relate to my sons.

What a Teenage Boy Needs Most From His Mom

This is a really fun post to look at – pictures from a family of 13 children from 1925.

Not sure yet if I’ll be able to post next Friday, but the next time I post I hope to put up a picture of my three girls with the dresses I’m making for them.
