Currently I’m beyond organized and ready to meet Melanie and can’t settle down to read a book and actually take it in so I’m playing Scrabble.
I’m focusing on school and teaching Genevieve to cook (she is doing more and more on her own so I’m encouraging that) and Stef to “make” salads ;).
I’m totally not focused on anything but keeping this house “up to snuff” and ready for me to be away and out of commission for awhile….I’m hoping keeping it decluttered and organized well mean a smooth transition for all of us :). I’m also totally engrossed in my home and being a hermit – nesting is the best 🙂
Thank you. It was a happy birthday.
I like The Big Valley. I haven’t seen a lot of it because the children usually watch it at night while I’m having a tea with my husband. I like Westerns ever since I was introduced to Louis L’Amour as a teenager.
Yay! I’m glad you like it. It’s a really fun blend of comfortable family, exciting adventures, and the occasional deep moral pondering. Westerns are my favorite genre — they’re also my dad’s, and so I grew up watching a LOT of them, though I didn’t read many, oddly enough. I’m reading more L’Amour and Grey and Brand now, in my 30s, than I ever did as a teen. I think they intimidated me in a way, that my own western imaginings wouldn’t live up to their books or something.
I really haven’t branched out from L’Amour. I tried a Zane Grey once and couldn’t get into it. Maybe I need to try again. Something else to add to my reading list. 😛
What a great list – and Happy Birthday!!!!!
