Several years ago I was playing the piano on a Sunday when our song leader announced this song – “Come, Christians, Join to Sing”. I had never heard this song and started to go into a ever-so-slight panic.
Thankfully this song is very easy to play, and we had a good song leader. While playing this song that Sunday, I fell in love with it. I love the joyful melody as well as the words.
“Praise is His gracious choice” – How wonderful that we can worship God with our praise. We do not need to perform human sacrifice, bring costly gifts, or mutilate our own bodies. God desires our praise.
“To us He’ll condescend” – Meditate on this for a while. The God of the entire universe is interested in each of us individually. He cares about us and longs to be in fellowship with us if we will allow Him to. What an amazing, comforting thought.
“Singing forevermore” – In Heaven we will have all of eternity to sing God’s praises. What an amazing time that will be – countless people all singing together of God’s greatness and goodness!
Alleluia! Amen!
Loud praise to Christ our king;
Alleluia! Amen!
Let all, with heart and voice,
Before His throne rejoice;
Praise is His gracious choice.
Alleluia! Amen!
Alleluia! Amen!
Let praises fill the sky;
Alleluia! Amen!
He is our guide and friend;
To us He’ll condescend;
His love shall never end.
Alleluia! Amen!
Alleluia! Amen!
Life shall not end the strain;
Alleluia! Amen!
On heaven’s blissful shore,
His goodness we’ll adore,
Singing forevermore,
Alleluia! Amen!

Gorgeous song – Jon’s friend, Samuel – well his sister taught her kids’ class this song so Stef knows it and loves it 🙂
