I love maps and studying them. I love reading books about other cultures. However, I’ve found that a lot of geography textbooks can be rather dull. I can now say with full confidence that learning geography can be fun.
The other day a pin came up in my Pinterest feed about computer games that a mom allows so I checked it out. They’re all educational, but I’ve only checked out one. There is a word game, a number game and a geography game. Of course, the geography was what I looked at.
Seterra can be downloaded for free or played online. Since our internet is limited where we are living now I downloaded it. I couldn’t be happier with this product and my children are the same.

Quite often someone will be playing it, or I’ll see several children huddled around the laptop figuring out the maps together.
There are maps with islands, rivers, mountains and volcanoes, capitals, regions. It’s very comprehensive.
You also have the option of learning the flags of the countries. I now have the high score on the simple version of the flags. It’s going to take me a while to learn the harder version.
And that’s something else that’s great. You can record names of high scores. A little competition never hurt for encouraging some learning.

It’s a great win all the way around – I have an educational game for the children, and they’re having fun while learning.
So if you’re children need something to do this summer, and you want to get some learning in too, check out Seterra.
I definitely downloaded this – I love geography, too and I need to keep refreshing my mind on our beautiful world π
