As I’ve mentioned before, I LOVE lists. I have so much going on. If I try to hold all of my “to-do’s” in my head I’ll forget something which will drive me crazy.
Generally about twice a year I post a list of things I want to sew over the next few months. I was just looking at my Spring/Summer 2015 list and realized it was written before we knew we were moving. Some of the things no longer apply.
Anyway, it got me to thinking. I want to write out a list of goals for this summer because a) I love lists and b) putting it out there for the entire world to see (if they so choose) makes me feel more accountable for actually working my way through the list.
That’s the problem with lists – at least for me – I could write lists all day long. Just writing out a list makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something. ☺ I need to move on though to the actual doing not always as easy or as fun.
So here is my list for this summer…
Obviously topping the list is getting unpacked. I enjoy unpacking so much more than packing. I generally end up purging even more as I realized that I’ve managed a whole month (or longer) without said item so do I really need it?
I have to plan a graduation ceremony and party for our first high school graduate. So exciting!
I want to learn or at least start learning how to make artisan bread.
I have about a gazillion (give or take) canning jars. I really want to fill them up this summer. Since we won’t be able to have a garden I need to find a farmer’s market in our area where I can buy produce.
I need to plan out a Junior Kindergarten programme for my four-year-old. I have a lot of resources that I’ve been collecting from the internet. I need to look them all over and figure what I want to use and how I’m going to use it.
Start a compost pile for a better garden next year.
I’m looking for a cat. I’ve been visiting shelters online because after we move I’m getting a cat – sooo happy. I love cats, and my husband has agreed to my getting one.
I’ve even made a pretty sheet that I can print and hang on my fridge to remind me of all that I hope to accomplish (with room to add more to the list).
I’m sure that other things will come up over the summer, but for now I think this is enough. We move in less than two weeks. I can hardly wait to get started on this list.
What’s on your to-do list for the summer?

now if I could only get my list made! that would be step one!

Sometimes the first step is the hardest. 🙂 Ask the children to help. I’m sure they could think of plenty of things to do this summer. 🙂

That paper is pretty – a pretty list is inspiring.
I have always found when we move that I get rid of more both packing and unpacking ;). You’re right – it feels great to purge.
Have fun planning her grad party. It is amazing how time flies and our kids are getting old enough now to check things off THEIR lists :).
Jon just told me that he is getting his transcripts from WY to see if he has enough from there and the AF college to get his first degree in college! Where does time go?
Hold on to that four year old and don’t let him grow up 🙂

That paper is from the Creative Memories digital. I don’t know if it’s still available, but I love all my digital papers. I do so much more with them than just scrapbooking.
I wouldn’t want my children to NEVER grow up, but on the other hand I wish they would stay little just a little longer.
