Gifts for Men

This is the time of year when we’re thinking about what to give the fathers in our life for Father’s Day. Buying for men is so notoriously difficult. I’ve put together a small list of unique gifts that don’t include ties or tools.

First of all is the post I just wrote yesterday. A frame that you can update as often as you like to tell someone why you love them.

Bacon salt. Enough said. Seriously, my husband loved this when I made it for him.

A coaster. I really need to make one of these for my husband’s night table. If you search on Pinterest, I’m sure you’ll find about 1, 732 ideas – give or take.

A sleep mask – I made one of these for my husband because when he takes a nap during the day he wants the room to be dark, and that doesn’t always happen. Basically I took a sleep mask for a woman and made it a little bigger. I didn’t add the elastic for going around the head because I didn’t think he would like that. He just lays it on his eyes, and he’s happy.

I made this book for my husband two or three years ago. The directions are clear and simple. Cutting the book and putting the paper on it is the most tedious part of the project. After that it’s so much fun to fill it up with reasons why you love your husband.

You could also frame a favourite photo or quote. This is one I did for my husband – Shakespeare’s 116th Sonnet.
