This week in between scrapbooking and updating the look on my blog I read a lot of fluff. I did also read quite a bit more of The Black Count: Glory, Revolution, Betrayal, and the Real Count of Monte Cristo by Tom Reiss and am really enjoying that.

16-year-old daughter – Rifles for Watie by Harold Keith. This is a Civil War story for middle school children.

14-year-old son – The Assault by Brian Faulkner

13-year-old son – Jane’s Guns Recognition Guide by Ian Hogg and Terry Gander. Oh the joys of having sons!

11-year-old daughter – The Carnivorous Carnival by Lemony Snicket

9-year-old daughter –The Falcon’s Feather (A to Z Mysteries) by Ron Roy

7-year-old son – Everyday Life in Viking Times by Hazel Mary Martell. Micah asked to study about the Vikings (our distant anscestors were Vikings). So we’ve been doing a lapbook about them and reading books from the library and learning all kinds of interesting facts.

4-year-old son – Six by Seuss. He borrowed this from the library and his spent many happy minutes paging through it as well as getting older siblings to read it to him.

2-year-old son- Dr. Seuss’s ABC. He brought this one to me and so sweetly asked me to read it. He had a lot of giggles with the funny rhymes. He’s been doing a lot of experimenting with words and how they sound so I think he really appreciated Dr. Seuss’s play with words.
