My reading has been really light this week. Lots of “brain candy” novels. So I’m going to take a pass on what I’ve been reading and just share my children’s recommendations.

16-year-old daughter – The Guardians by Jack Cavanaugh – her favourite author
14-year-old son – The 39 Clues: Doublecross Book 1: Mission Titanic by Jude Watson. The 39 Clues series just keeps spawning more and more spin-offs.
12-year-old son – Gregor and the Code of Claw by Suzanne Collins. We finally bought this set for our family. We were checking them out so often from the library, and now the library is missing a volume from their set. It was time.
11-year-old daughter – Becoming Nikki by Ashley Elliott. This book was written by a friend of Eva-Joy’s, and the girls assure me it is very good.
9-year-old daughter – Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane by Suzanne Collins. Bekah is finally getting into these books and enjoying it.
7-year-old son – No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed by Eileen Christelow read by my sister.
4-year-old son – Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin. My sister has started a really cool thing that my little boys absolutely love – We set up a Skype time and she reads books to them. They get really excited when they know Aunt Julie is “coming” to read them a book or two or three. This is one time I love technology.
2-year-old son – Atlas of the World’s Most Dangerous Animals by Paula Hammond. Here’s a funny story about this book. Jonah loves looking at this book, but he’s terrified of it. He lays it open on the couch to a scary animal. He can’t turn the page though because the animal might bite him. He was constantly begging someone to turn the page for him so he could be terrified by the new animal. I finally taught him to take his nerf gun with him and shoot the animal. Once it is “dead” he can turn the page and move on. He is way too funny.
How has your reading been this week?

Hi Jennifer! First I want to thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I am now subscribed to your lovely blog.
Now about my reading this week. I am reading The Happy Christian for a book review at my blog and have only had time to read about half a chapter. I hope to make time & pick it up more this week. So far it is a good book about Christians who ( & majority of public & media) tend to think negative and why is that ( it looks at) and helps bring a positive outlook according to the Bible to things! He is saying Christian ( should be) the happiest people on earth!

Jonah is far to funny about that scary book – I will have to ask him to show it to me the next time we “skype” (nerf gun in hand of course! Maybe I’ll grab one of Tim’s so I won’t get hurt, too LOL).
I’m glad they enjoy me reading to them – I enjoy it, too – we have to get some new books to have fun with :).
Stef has picked up the French Dictionary you gave us when the kids were babies – she loves saying the words (or trying) 🙂

Jonah should have been born about 100 years ago so he could be a gun-carrying cowboy. 🙂
