This has been an unusual week for me book-wise. I’ve started several books, but have had a hard time really getting into them. I guess the one I have enjoyed the most has been Mrs. Astor Regrets: The Hidden Betrayals of a Family Beyond Reproach by Meryl Gordon. It’s about the late Mrs. Brooke Astor and how at the end of her life her son took over her finances and stole from her. I’m only part way into the book so I haven’t read his side of the story yet, but I do know he was arrested and went to trial. It’s actually rather sad to see how this prestigious family is so dysfunctional.
16-year-old daughter – Wounded: A New History of the Western Front in World War I by Emily Mayhew. She’s still very interested in the two world wars.
14-year-old son – He’s not feeling well today so he has no recommendation.
12-year-old son – Curse of the Warmbloods by Suzanne Collins. This is one of the Gregor the Overlander series.
10-year-old daughter – Daughter of Venice by Donna Jo Napoli
9-year-old daughter – A Lion to Guard Us by Clyde Robert Bulla
7-year-old son – That’s Incredible. This is put out by the editors of Time Magazine and has enough facts and interesting/freaky pictures to delight the soul of any little boy.
2 & 3 -year-old sons – My Counting Book by Don L. Curry. This has beautiful photos of animals, and both little boys have enjoyed pouring over it as well as having it read to them.
What interesting book did you read this week?

Is the book you’re reading about THE Astors? the rich family? so in other words – a true story?
And to your 14 year old – NOAH!!!!!!!!!!!! You can’t think of ANY book 🙂 LOL
I have written a couple of the books down to look at (the one in Venice and another Bulla book – yeah!)
