I feel so behind this year. Because the children were so sick this fall, I’m about a month behind in everything. I’ve had this list perking in my head for a while. Sewing in the winter is such a cozy activity. This is the sewing that I want to do this winter, and now that life is getting back to normal I hope to start getting on with these projects.
So, in no particular order, here is what I want to sew/make this winter.
- bread bags
- pjs – for my two youngest – one piece, zip up the front
- nightgowns – for my two youngest daughters – one wants fleece, the other wants flannel
- skirts – as needed for my daughters
- gifts
- napkin holder – I found this great pattern and could use a new holder
- reusable “paper” towels – I’ve had this on my to-do list for. ev. er. I really want to do some of these so I keep putting it on my list hoping one of these times I’ll get around to it.
- overalls – for my baby – fleece – to make him extra squishable
- sew new curtains for my bedroom and bathroom – looking for inspiration here
I think that’s enough to keep me busy for a while. ☺
What do you plan on sewing this winter?

Now for my questions/comments LOL.
1. Are the fleece nightgowns hard to make?
2. I always have “skirts as needed” on my list 😛 Seems they go through them 🙂 Plus if I see “fun” fabrics – I like to throw them together quickly!
3. I was just looking yesterday at “reusable” paper towels but I wasn’t sure how it worked cause the one I looked at said, “no sew” 🙂 Let me know if you find a easy pattern cause I really want some 😉
4. I’d like to put some curtains up here and there but we now have blinds everywhere and Pierre feels curtains will take away from our gorgeous windows – he may be right so curtains go on the back burner ;).
I need to get organized like you and make a list from the projects I’ve been putting in Pinterest!

I think anything fleece is easy to make. It is such a forgiving fabric. Sometimes just the right curtains can enhance a window. 🙂 How did we live before Pinterest? 🙂

Wow, you are ambitious! I know how to sew, but between my girls learning, and consequently breaking my machine (for the second time), I don’t do much of it. Ha, ha! And it does seem that every time I want to make something, the machine is not available. Oy. So I’ve been crocheting instead 🙂 But I really, really want to make some reversible baby smocks. I am not sure of the name, but they would be very cute to make. I really wanted to make a bunch when Merida was a drooling machine. Something to put over a onsie, or shirt that can dress them up, but can easily be taken off and a new one put on without having to feel like you are redressing them for the day. Anyways, I still want to try my hand at one. This is the sort of thing I am thinking of:
I would love to see your creations!

I love to sew but usually do it in spurts. I sew for a few weeks then switch to scrapbooking for a few weeks. Right now is a huge sewing time trying to get a bunch of gifts made. That smock looks cute. I’ve seen that kind of thing before. Makes me wish I had a baby girl to sew for. I will post pictures of my finished projects in the spring.
