This week I read a fantastic book about a dog named Skidboot. This dog was incredibly smart and became famous world-wide. The story was so fascinating as the love developed between Skidboot and his owner, David. Skidboot ‘The Smartest Dog In The World’ by Cathy Luchetti is well worth the read.
Here’s a video of Skidboot on “Pet Star” to give you a taste of what he was like.
16-year-old daughter – While Mortals Sleep by Jack Cavanaugh. Jack Cavanaugh is my daughter’s favourite author, and she reads his books over and over.

12-year-old son – The Kootenay Kidnapper by Eric Wilson
10-year-old daughter – Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Emmuska Orczy. I love that my daughter already enjoys the Scarlet Pimpernel. He’s everything a dashing, romantic figure should be – brave, romantic, loyal, resourceful, handsome.
9-year-old daughter – Sword in the Tree by Clyde Robert Bulla. Knights and robbers and King Arthur. What could be more exciting!
6-year-old son – Pilgrim’s Progress (for children) by John Bunyan
3-year-old son – Spot Goes to the Hospital by Eric Hill. This has been a favourite ever since Ethan and Jonah had to spend a couple of days in the hospital last month.
